Who we are
Himshikhara Socio-Cultural Society (HISCUS Nepal) is a registered non-profit organization, established in 1998 with the CDO Office and the Social Welfare Council.
We are dedicated to preserving Nepal’s traditional culture and empowering communities to protect their unique cultural heritage. Our work focuses on improving the lives of underprivileged people while promoting development that values both cultural identity and environmental sustainability.
Our Programs

The “Women Empowerment”
project is dedicated to strengthening the well-being, skills, and economic resilience of women in our community. Through a combination of health-focused initiatives and hands-on vocational training, the program supports women in gaining knowledge, confidence, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The “Aid relief”
project focuses on providing urgent assistance and support to communities affected by natural disasters. Our recent efforts have centered on responding to the Thapathali Flooding and Bethanchowk Flooding, where families experienced severe damage to homes, livelihoods, and essential infrastructure.

The “Sarangkot Nestling Home”
provides destitute children in Nepal with a secure and loving home in Sarangkot, Nepal, and the opportunity to regain childhood, receive health care and education, learning skills such as tailoring, computer technology, farming, food preparation, etc, necessary for attaining jobs in the future.

The “Education Support Program”
works with educators and change-makers by providing sponsorship to needy students, supporting teachers, and offering after-school classes to support marginalized children who need extra care and guidance to do better in their studies.

Construction and Renovation
improve essential community infrastructure in Nepal, including building a 700-meter shortcut path for Sarangkot villagers and constructing protective walls for Bhaktapur Old Age Home to ensure safer, easier daily living.
The “Insights & Dialogue Series”
brings together a set of initiatives designed to foster informed conversations, community awareness, and evidence-based understanding on key social issues through three interconnected programs: the Podcasts Program, the Academic Roundtable, and Waste Management Discussion. Together, these programs create a multifaceted platform for learning, reflection, and community engagement.
