Key Highlights:

• Three-day Vocational Training at Gyan Jyoti  Mahila Vidhyalaya: The Himshikhara Socio Cultural Society (HISCUS) conducted a three day vocational training program at Gyan Jyoti Mahila Vidyalaya, aimed at providing women with the skills to make soap using at-home and accessible ingredients. The training was conducted  in collaboration with the school, which is a women-centered institution that educates women from marginalized groups or those with lower access to opportunities. The program was divided into  three days, with the first day focusing on the theoretical framework, the second day focusing on  the practical aspects of soap-making, and the third day with the continuation and ending ceremony.

Impact:

• The training was conducted by an expert through HISCUS, with representatives from Kathmandu metropolitan city and HISCUS attending the event. The training was a success, with participants expressing positive feedback and considering the idea of exploring this as a possible business venture. The program aimed to provide practical skills for the women of the school, highlighting  the potential of soap-making as an accessible means of earning.
