HISCUS – NEPAL is always focused on bringing together the skills and expertise scattered on different parts of Nepal. It aims to collaborate with various developmental organizations that put effort to serve the marginalized community, group and individual. HISCUS always believes that an organization is always bound with limited resources and manpower to accomplish their unlimited task. Thus, HISCUS is always eager to collaborate with various organizations that aims to serve the society and shares similar vision of equality. HISCUS- NEPAL carried out field observation to spread its working sector to tourism focused places. In the need assessment phase it was found that there are numbers of organization that are working for the betterment of marginalized group in the Provence area, but they lack some resources to continue their social work. HISCUS-NEPAL have started building a transit home in Sarangkot Area of Kaski district called “The Sarangkot Nestling Trust Home”. The two storage of the building has been completed. The main purpose of this home is to give shelter to those children who are deprived from their basic rights. It is an effort to help the marginalized children directly with the support of an organization who is looking after them. OIt is an effort to provide child rights to those children who are deprived from it.
This home is a hope of future to the number of children who are discriminated from their basic rights. It will not only be a building made up of cement, brick and other construction materials instead will be a home and future for lot of children who will be staying there.
Though substantial progress was made towards the MDGs on education alone, a lot more needs to done to overcome the challenges according to UNESCO’s 2015 Global Monitoring Report, Education for All 2000-2015: Achievement and Challenges, there are still 58 million children of out of school globally. Of these children, 25 million are in the rural, low income regions .
These children are some of the poorest in the world, meaning that they are four times less likely to attend school than children in the richest nations. Creating a fair, inclusive, and equitable future requires us to recognize and meet the needs of children in some of the most remote, excluded and far-reaching communities .
It is in these challenges environments that guaranteeing universal primary education has been one of the organization’s guiding principles. The SDGs are focused around three pillars that ESIMT considers crucial for the sustainable and long term reduction in children out of school: empowering girls, mobilizing the local community, and partnering with local and national government.
In Nepal, Two- thirds of all children attend schools, and every year a significant majority of these students fail to graduate from secondary school. If 100 children enroll in grade one, only 30% of them stay in school. About 70% children drop out of the school system.
Similarly, according to the research by Save the Children, it is found that around 20% children are out of school and deprive from education. Thus, this year Himshikhara is focusing on running informal class to those children
Himshikhara Socio Cultural Society focuses on the four vital issues that is needed to be addressed at the present scenario. Health, Children, Education and Shelter is the main components that Himshikhara is dealing at present for the sustainability of the society. Education, health and shelter are the backbone in each sector whether it may be politics, business or social sector. Himshikhara applies the holistic way i.e. doing various activities throughout the year. Himshikhara want to prove the model in kathmandu, Chitwan,Makwanpur and Kaski through community & like-minded partners to expand it on other parts of country in future.
