Date: beginning in October 2024, with the project being officially wrapped up on July 9, 2025

Key Highlights:

  • Conducted field visits and consultations with the ward office, local community members, and technical personnel to identify a suitable site for water tank construction. 
  • Coordinated with the local authorities to obtain necessary approvals and ensure alignment with community priorities and safety standards. 
  • Procured construction materials and mobilized skilled and unskilled labor for the installation of the water storage tank. 
  • Supervised and monitored the construction process to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of the structure. 
  • Conducted final inspection and handover of the completed water tank to the local community for regular use and maintenance.
  • Gathered feedback from community representatives and beneficiaries regarding the functionality and accessibility of the new water facility.

Participants: Affected population of Bethanchowck 

Impact:

  • The construction of the new water storage tank restored access to safe and reliable water for at least 60 households affected by the floods and landslides in Bethanchowk. 
  • Community members now have improved access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases. 
  • The project supported the re-establishment of essential community infrastructure that had been damaged during the disaster, contributing to overall recovery efforts. 
  • Local engagement throughout the project enhanced community ownership and commitment to maintaining the water system. 
  • The initiative strengthened collaboration between local authorities, community members, and supporting organizations, laying the foundation for more coordinated disaster recovery and resilience initiatives in the future.
