Key Highlights:

  • The program began with an introduction of the facilitators and international volunteers.
  • A 17-minute video was shown to demonstrate the process of making a fermenting liquid and a fermenting bed.
  • A presentation by the international volunteers defined composting, explained its impacts and benefits, and outlined the fermenting liquid and bed preparation process.
  • A live demonstration of fermenting bed construction was conducted, with translation support provided as needed.
  • The program concluded with a question-and-answer session, refreshments, and group photographs.
  • Additionally, interviews were conducted with two participants to collect feedback on the training.

Impact:

  • Participants gained practical knowledge and understanding of composting, including the preparation of fermenting liquid and fermenting beds.
  • The live demonstrations and visual materials enhanced participants’ confidence in applying composting techniques at home or in community gardens.
