Health Initiative Program believes in the motto of “Prevention is better than cure. In most cases, people get sick or ill because of their behavior, the behavior directed by knowledge, the socio–economic and socio-cultural status. Thus, the program mainly focuses on Community and school health education and awareness programs which are essential to make a healthy society. It also focuses on running various health camps for those people who are struggling even to fulfill their basic needs. Under the Health Initiative Program, we are also running various health camps where basic health assessment service is given to the people of various communities. This sort of program is conducted to raise awareness among people that regular health exams are necessary to avoid incurable diseases. This year, we conducted three health camps in Kathmandu, Bhakapur, and Chitwan District of Nepal. More than 420 people benefited from this program. Those 420 participants will convey their learnings and experiences from the health awareness camp to a larger number of people, and the chain of knowledge will continue to grow bigger contributing towards a healthy nation. Under this program, Himshikhara has distributed handkerchiefs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap for all sanitary pads for adolescent girls.
