Project Description
Date: 9 May 2025
Participants: 18 women from the community itself.
Key Highlights:
- Identifying Stressors
Participants shared common sources of stress in their daily lives, acknowledging the center as both a place for learning and a supportive community space.
- Balloon Awareness Exercise
Through a playful balloon-sitting activity, participants discovered how unaddressed stress can accumulate and eventually “burst,” leading to both laughter and reflection.
- Coloring Emotions
Women expressed their recent emotions by shading hearts in different colors, which sparked open dialogue about mental health and emotional well-being.
- Mental Health Quiz
Working in teams, participants used red and green cards to answer true-or-false questions, helping to clarify misconceptions about mental health.
- Body Mapping Stress
One participant lay on a chart paper while their outline was traced. Others then used markers and colors to indicate areas of the body where they personally experience stress, creating a visual representation of how stress manifests physically.
Impact:
The Women’s Stress Management and Well-being Program created a valuable space for female students to explore their emotional health in a supportive and culturally sensitive setting. In a social context where vulnerability is often discouraged, the program successfully encouraged open dialogue, built self-awareness, and introduced practical coping strategies.
